If your notion of karaoke is drunken boors bawling atonally to “Stairway to Heaven,” then this regular Monday-night party, in West Hollywood, may surprise you. The weekly event attracts an unusually high caliber of feisty, talented young warblers, many of them professional actors and singers unable to resist the lure of a stage even on their night off. It’s not uncommon for a lineup to include performers from the recent production of Reefer Madness, semifinalists from American Idol, Vegas lounge singers on holiday, and cast members from Boy Meets Boy. This show, hosted by the genial MC Kenny, combines the pleasure of listening to unusually polished young singers with the usual kitschy amusement of karaoke.
